Dirty Oar Beer Company is a local brewery out of Cocoa, FL who loves and supports their first responders. Owners Paul Hill, Chris Hughes, and Mark Alderman opened the Dirty Oar in Cocoa Village, in 2017 and have been serving up their own hand crafted brews since. Since opening, the Dirty Oar has been a friend and supporter of the Cocoa Police Department, where Survive First Founder, Doug Monda, spent his entire career. Through a chance meeting, Doug, his wife Karen, Paul, Chris, and Mark became fast friends, and the Dirty Oar has been a supporter ever since. “From the day we opened the brewery we have endeavored to take an active role in the Cocoa community and be supportive. That evolution led us to Survive First, and we could think of no better group in which to build a relationship. To support the first responders of our community, Doug and Karen, and Survive First is the perfect fit for the Dirty Oar”, said Paul Hill.
In January 2019, Dirty Oar brought their crew and a few of their outstanding masterpieces to Survive First’s Inaugural Run for Responders 5k, serving finishers with one “on the house” craft beer of the their choice. At the end of the night, all tips were donated to Survive First. We are excited to announce Dirty Oar has already committed to our 2020 Run for Responders 5k on January 4th!
Until then, Doug and Karen Monda, and the Dirty Oar family have some fun things they are planning together for runners and locals alike. The first will be on Friday evening, June 28th, when the Dirty Oar unveils their latest creation, “Everyone’s Hero” to benefit Survive First.
“Everyone’s Hero” is a special brewed IPA, crafted by brewmaster, Chris Hughes at Dirty Oar. All proceeds made by purchases of Everyone’s Hero, on the evening of it’s unveiling, will be donated to Survive First. This is an evening that promises not to disappoint, so please come join Survive First and the Dirty Oar team for an evening filled of fun!
